Do you know the weapon called the Splat Brella?
It's a shelter-type weapon that looks like an umbrella. It opens its umbrella while firing and blocks your attacks.
...So an umbrella can block that.
The first time I met one head-on, KAZUKIN was a little bewildered.
I wind up my roller and unleash an all-out strike. And it blocks it with an umbrella,
“Yes, blocked.”
With the casualness of sheltering from a sudden shower, it catches KAZUKIN's desperate swing.
No, this isn't raindrops. It's a roller.
I showed myself intending to take it out in one hit. But the Brella side keeps its umbrella open and calmly shoots me.
Bang, bang, bang.
KAZUKIN panics and swings the roller again.
Yes, umbrella again.
Swing again.
Yes, umbrella.
Meanwhile, only my health keeps steadily dropping. Before I know it, KAZUKIN is down and only the roller lies quietly on the spot.

It's my fault for fighting head-on. I know.
Being a roller user, I should hide and approach from behind. I do know that.
But when I see it walk boldly toward me with its umbrella open, I somehow want to smash through it head-on.
Is this umbrella really unbreakable? If I keep hitting it with the roller, won't I break through someday?
Holding that faint hope, I challenge it head-on.
And lose. I lose every time.

Moreover, if I try to run, the Splat Brella chases me while firing in small bursts.
The roller also has a big opening right after a swing. Once I miss, what follows isn't a battle. It's a post-mortem.
“Why did I go head-on?”
“Why did I swing again?”
“Why did I think the umbrella would break?”
As I float into the sky after being splatted, I keep asking myself.
The answer is always the same.
Because I thought I could do it.
