I feel like listening to a bit of music today.
On days like that, what I switch on is the KAZUKIN household's ONKYO INTEC S1.
Connect it to the PC by USB and play a favorite song.
The moment it flows out of the speakers,
“Ahh... it really is good.”
That one line says it all.
Something differs from BOSE
Of course, I use the BOSE Companion 2 Series III a lot day to day too.
That is more than good sound as well.
But when I switch to the INTEC S1, something's different.
Is it the depth of the sound?
The sheen?
The sense of air?
Honestly, I can't explain it well.
I can't, but...
my ears have decided on their own that “today is serious.”
The vocals step forward.
The guitar sits a little back.
The drums are properly there.
Close my eyes and it's a live venue...
not quite,
but the feeling is “are they playing in the next room?”
...No, I exaggerated a bit (lol).
I like the look too
This INTEC S1 is a favorite in looks too.
Silver aluminum panel.
A large volume knob.
A blue glowing display.
It lacks the flashiness of recent equipment.
But this restrained design is really good.
It feels like grown-up audio.
There's no PER for ears
The hobby of music is scary.
“A bit more bass.”
“A bit more transparency.”
“What if I change the cables?”
Temptations like that appear one after another.
It's a world where, before you know it, your wallet gets light too.
KAZUKIN is a contrarian investor.
Even with audio, I can't help thinking,
“Isn't this actually overpriced?”
With stocks I look at PER and PBR,
but for speakers there's no “PER for ears” (lol).
Summary
Even so, I've kept using this INTEC S1 for years.
It doesn't break.
I don't get tired of it.
The sound is good.
The look is good.
A product like this might be, in stock terms, a long-term holding.
Today again, playing favorite songs,
drinking coffee,
“Such good sound...”
KAZUKIN soaks in it.
...Five minutes later,
he's opening his brokerage app and checking stock prices.
