About this lab
KAZUKIN, full body

Love what you love, your own way.

KAZUKIN LAB is a “personal laboratory” that researches and records whatever happens to spark an interest: stock investing, G-SHOCK watches, old bags, skateboarding, Ovation guitars, working with AI, studying for certifications, and more. It isn’t as tidy as a specialist publication, but that’s because everything here comes from real experience. Things get bought, used, and sometimes botched, and only what’s still loved stays on this site.

Buying stocks contrarian-style, only to watch them drop again. Keeping a G-SHOCK from years ago alive by retightening its screws. Slowly growing this very site with a little help from AI. These plain, everyday moments are part of the research too, and they’re recorded here.

Your guide is the mascot, KAZUKIN: a long face, a long chin, and eyes of two different colors. KAZUKIN has a face that never reveals whether motivation is in there somewhere, yet takes research surprisingly seriously. Learn a little, play a little, and stay mostly lost.

KAZUKIN?

Meet the mascot

A purple outfit with a “K” logo. The left arm is yellow, the right arm orange, the left leg green, the right leg orange. Perfect symmetry is not the goal, and that’s the point. On each category page, KAZUKIN mutters a line or two in Japanese, like “It’s dropped again...” or “Skating is great, right?”, and they’re almost always laid-back.

By the way, KAZUKIN apparently fell hard for music festivals this year (by KAZUKIN’s own account).

Fun at KAZUKIN LAB

Four recording tapes turned up on a shelf in the lab. Press one to play it.

You’ll have to listen to find out.

*These recordings are not performances of any specific song, just a casual strum through favorite chord progressions. All playing is by KAZUKIN personally.

Today’s KAZUKIN fortune
